My Quilting Studio

This is my Quilting Studio. And, I do call it that. A Studio is so much more serious than a quilting or sewing room, you know. You do Important things in a Studio. You just spend time... doing things... in a sewing room. Right?

My Grandma had a sewing room and it was a creative mess. Always. There was a pathway in to the sewing machine and a pathway to the closet. You couldn't get to the dresser or the storage cupboard! But, she did make so many wonderful things in that creative mess!

Anyway, this is my Studio. 

That's Studio, with a capitol "S". 

I do Important things here.

My RED Gammill Optimum Plus, named Corabelle.

 This is my Gammill from the doorway. 

My thread cupboard is there in the background.
Jay made it for me two Christmas' ago.

It has plaid lunch boxes on top of it.
And, the small quilts on the walls are made by Sharon P.,
the owner of Momma Made It Quilt Shop
in Longview, WA.
I bought them at her backyard sale one summer.
I was so delighted to find them!
They are one of my treasures.

I love seashells and I especially love starfish!

In the bay window I have a table set up with  my Featherweight sewing machine.
I LOVE the little guy!

This is the Pantograph holder with some of my quilts stacked on top.

Jay made me the Pantograph holder last year for Christmas.

Hmmm, I wonder what I can get him to make for me this year?

This is the center section of the Pantograph holder. 

I collect red plaid lunch boxes, suitcases, thermos bottles and picnic bags. 

I love their happy, plaidy look!

And, the little Singer sewing machine was a gift from my sister for my birthday last year. 

I sell the little bobbin and thread holders there by the chair for $10.00 each.

They are really wonderful to have by the sewing machine.

This is the last section of the Pantograph holder. 

The green painted clock on top is one that I painted in the late 80's, back when tole painting was really cool.

And, yes, that is a rusty bed spring next to the clock. They are such cool texture.

I have a lot of fabric!

Here you can see my ironing board,

 which I also use for a cutting board (with the pink cutting mat, of course!).

Jay made me the wide, Big Board ironing board. It is so useful!

 I have a Babylock Aspire sewing machine. The same ones aren't made anymore. I have really loved it but when it dies, I am going to just use my Featherweight sewing machine. I love it even more!
